Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyze the correlation between the burnout in child counselors and related variables. A meta-analysis of 39 Korean studies was conducted. Firstly, the overall effect size of protective factors exhibited a medium effect(-.408). The sub-factor effect size within these factors was in the order of individual factors(-.438) and environmental factors(-.249). Within the individual factors, the order was counseling competencies(-.460) followed by psychological and personality variables(-.418). Secondly, the overall effect size of risk factors exhibited a medium effect size(.458). The sub-factor effect size within these factors was in the order of environmental factors(.562) and individual factors(.421). Lastly, upon examining the moderating effects, experience showed statistically significant differences only in protective factors that had a negative correlation with burnout. This research is expected to enhance the understanding of child counselors¡¯ burnout and provide directions for future studies.
